Services
Calhoun County Central Services provides intra-governmental services;
Mail, Centralized Copiers and Telecommunications to County employees,
County Departments and outside agencies. The services provided are
essential for effective and efficient communications from a department
to those they serve.
Services are provided and delivered with the highest quality
customized service and with the lowest possible cost in a timely and
efficient manner that at is most profitable for Calhoun County
employees, departments and public served.
Services emphasize honest and respectful, personal interaction with
departments and those that are served. No job is too small and every
piece of mail, every copy and every telephone call matters.
Mail Services
With a staff of one mail courier and serving six buildings in the
Albion, Battle Creek and Marshall areas, Mail services was able to
process 628,000 pieces of outgoing mail (those requiring metered
postage) for year 2001.
There is a daily route, Monday-Friday, to each building for
delivery/pickup of outgoing and interoffice mail pieces. Please note
that mail is not delivered and/or picked up on County holidays and/or
holidays that are observed by the United States Postal Service.

Inmate mail is delivered Monday - Friday, excluding County holidays
that are observed and/or holidays that observed by the United States
Postal Service.

Centralized Copiers
This function is responsible for providing centralized copiers
throughout the County facilities so that departments can effectively and
efficiently make copies as needed without disrupting the workflow. The
copier fleet consist of thirty-one (31) leased copiers.
This function also is responsible for supplying paper to all
centralized copiers. The paper is bid annually and has a track record of
purchasing recycled paper, in compliance with the County's recycling
policy.
Telecommunications
This function is responsible for providing telecommunication services
and maintaining the telephone systems for the County. Telecommunications
is essential and is the primary link in providing communications between
employees, departments and the public. The goal of the telecommunication
function is to provide cost effective services and customer satisfaction
to departments and the public who use the County phone network for vital
communications.
