- The Board of Health Retreat was called to order at 8:35 AM by
Chair Larry Anderson.
- The following agenda was reviewed and agreed upon.
- Understanding the local, state, & federal requirements and dynamics
that affect the Calhoun County Dept. of Public Health
- Learning from the Department’s history
- Developing a shared understanding of the Department’s mission,
vision for the future & agreements on the principles that will guide
future thinking & behavior
- Anticipating future trends that will affect the Department’s future
success
Assessing the Department’s current realities
- Exploring Board governance issues
- Developing agreements on the major areas the Department needs to
focus its energy over the next three years, to best fulfill its mission
and move toward the vision for the future
- Developing agreements on the initial accountabilities & actions to
advance each area of focus
Consensus was agreed upon as the method to make decisions during the
retreat.
- The summary of the retreat will be provided by Art Cole to the
Board of Health and serves as a record of discussions. It is to be noted
that a quorum only existed until member Pat West needed to leave at
12:20. During that time the revised Mission Statement was adopted by
consensus.
- The meeting was adjourned for the day at approximately 4:15.
