Proceedings of the
Calhoun County Remonumentation Committee
May 17, 2007

Chairman Bob Carr called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Members present: Bob Carr, David Lohr, Bill Crane, Mike Groat and Fred Cutcher. Also present: Jennifer Bomba, County Planning Director.

Minutes
Motion by Mike Groat to approve the minutes of the April 18, 2007, Peer Group meeting as presented. Supported by Bill Crane. Motion carried.

New Business

  1. Jennifer provided copies of individual contracts approved by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Chair for contractor’s signatures. Contractors were provided a copy with all signatures complete.
     
  2. Jennifer noted that with the contracts approved and signed, she has processed all invoices received to date.
     
  3. Bob directed Jennifer to place an order for nails and tags (1000 each), as well as monument boxes and covers (100 each). Jennifer will let Bob know when the monument boxes are available and he will coordinate the pick-up.
     
  4. The possibility of scanning survey notes for easier use by members was discussed. Bill agreed to look into the cost to scan and place the files on disk.

Corner Approval

  1. Fred Cutcher presented corners for approval.

    Clarendon Township: D-4, F-4, H-4, M-8
    Motion made by Bill Crane to approve the corners as presented. Support by Mike Groat. Motion carried.

Homer Township: A-8
Motion made by Bill Crane to approve the corner as presented. Support by Mike Groat. Motion carried.

  1. Bill Crane presented corners for approval.

    Burlington Township: M-3, L-6, J-4, J-6, L-4, L-3, M-5, K-4, M-6, L-5, J-5, M-4
    Motion made by Mike Groat to approve the corners as presented. Support by Fred Cutcher. Motion carried.
     
  2. Mike Groat presented corners for approval.

    Eckford Township: D-8, E-9, D-9, B-10, B-8, C-8, and tabled corner B-9
    Motion by Bill Crane to table Eckford Township corner D-8; B-9 to remain tabled; and approve the remaining corners as presented. Support by Fred Cutcher. Motion carried.

Albion Township: F-5, C-5
Motion made by Bill Crane to table Albion Township corner F-5 and approve the remaining corner as presented. Support by Fred Cutcher. Motion carried.

Marshall Township: I-6, L-7, J-7, L-4
Motion made by Fred Cutcher to approve the corners as presented. Support by Bill Crane. Motion carried.
