VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes: April 11, 2007
Veterans Affairs Committee meeting convened by Veterans Affairs
Committee Chairperson Todd Kaminski at 8:00 A.M.
Pledge of Allegiance–Moment of Silence.

Reading of the March Committee Meeting Minutes:
Motion was made by Mr. Martin to accept March minutes as presented.
Mr. Arquette seconded. By a roll call vote of 4-0, March Committee
Meeting Minutes were accepted as presented.
Reading of March Activity Report:
March Activity Report was read without ensuing discussion.
Applications for General Assistance from the Soldiers’ and
Sailors’ Relief Fund:
None
Old Business:
None
New Business:
The Director stated that he received correspondence from Mr. Turner
tendering his resignation from the Calhoun County Veterans Affairs
Committee. The Director stated that Mr. Turner will, soon, be
relocating out of county and, thus, will not be eligible to remain as
a Committee member.
Mr. Arquette, who was excused from the March 2007 Veterans Affairs
Committee meeting expressed his disapproval of the Committee’s
unanimous approval of Application 07-03. Mr. Arquette raised a number
of questions as to the validity and credibility of Application 07-03.
Each Committee member recognized Mr. Arquette’s concerns but remained
steadfast in their decision to support Application 07-03.
The Director reminded the Committee that he and the Service Officer
will be attending the Michigan Association of County Veterans
Counselors annual spring training conference in Lansing on April 24
through April 27.
Mr. Savage made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Arquette
seconded. By a roll call vote of 4-0, the meeting was adjourned at
8:35AM.
