The Director presented to the Committee two letters of
commendation presented to the Director by the Calhoun County Board of
Commissioners on Thursday evening November 15, 2007. The Director was
presented with a special tribute from State Senator Mark Schauer’s
office with signatures from State Representatives Mike Nofs and Lawrence
Wenke and Governor Granholm. The Director was also presented with a
special commendation specific to the Calhoun County Veterans Affairs
staff from the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners.
Mr. Arquette inquired as to whether the Veterans Affairs Committee
would be provided access cards for the purposes of gaining entrance into
the building through the rear of the soon to be employee only entryway.
The Director stated that he would investigate. Mr. Arquette stated that
it would not be reasonable to not provide the Committee with access
cards given that two of the Committee members are recognized as legally
handicapped.
Mr. Kaminski thanked the Veterans Affairs Staff and Committee for
their thoughts and donations as a result of his father-in-law’s passing.
The Director offered the idea of the Veterans Affairs Staff and
Committee meeting at a restaurant sometime before Christmas. All agreed
that this was a good idea and that the Director should go ahead and
coordinate.
Mr. Savage made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Arquette
seconded. By a vote of 3-0, the November 20, 2007 Calhoun County
Veterans Affairs Committee meeting was adjourned at or about 8:40A.M.
