Waste
Management
Environmental Health carries out various programs to regulate and
enforce well and septic systems through the Calhoun County Sanitation
Code. CCPHD is mandated by the Michigan Department of Environmental
Quality (MDEQ) to assure a healthy community through design and
inspection of sewage systems and
wells and complaint investigation.
Household hazardous wastes, such as household chemicals, anit-freeze,
pesticides, are harmful to you and the environment. CCPHD offers a
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
program. The HHW program provides free disposal and recycling services
for a wide variety of household chemicals. The service is FREE for
Calhoun County residents. CCHPD Environmental Health currently offers
four collections a year for household hazardous waste.
